Visit to Lakeside Arts Centre

On Tuesday 29th November 2016, we went on a school trip to Lakeside Arts Centre. My partner was Oscar. I was excited for the trip.

When we arrived at the Arts Centre we went into a room. There was a lady called Ruth who told us we were going to be looking at incredible art by Victor Pasmore. After that we went into a room with only five paintings. I chose my favourite which was next to a beach picture. I drew it very slowly because I didn’t want to make any mistakes. Next we went to the room next door. The pictures were more of shapes this time. The drawing I chose was mainly made of squares, rectangles and triangles. The drawing was lots of houses next to a river. I think I did well. I moved over to a different drawing which looked like a newspaper but I didn’t get time to finish it. Then we moved to the third and final room. There were a lot more spirals in the drawings this time. I think I went for the hardest one to draw.

Later we went across the park to a different building. We got in our groups to make a sand sculpture. My group made a mountain landscape next to an ocean. After that we went upstairs to use some sand and clay. I think I used a bit too much clay but I put CB on it, standing for Colston Bassett.

A little while later we had our lunch and it was scrumptious. There were some Canada geese outside which was cool. Later we went on a walk around the lake, it was beautiful and epic. When we had finished the walk, we went to the park - it was FUN! Then it was time to go back to school.

I had a great day.

On Tuesday 29th November, we went to Lakeside Arts Centre. I was very excited. It was very fun and very messy! We made some things with clay and sand. We made some spirals in the sand and clay and then we went to have our lunch. It was very nice. I loved the wraps with cream cheese. Then we went to the park, it was a bit hard to climb it. I had a great time.
