Fundraising for Aquinoe Learning Centre

Throughout the Spring Term 2016, we have been raising funds for the Aquinoe Learning Centre Charitable Trust.

Run by three trustees on a voluntary basis, the aim of this wonderful charity is to provide support and funding for children - regardless of financial, physical, sensory or learning difficulties - at a small inclusive school in Kitale, Kenya.

We began by holding a ‘Design your own meal on a plate’ competition. The children had to pay £2.00 for a plate and then create their favourite meal using any media of their choice. We had some fantastic entries and the head chef at the Martin’s Arms in Colston Bassett came into school on Tuesday 8th March to judge the competition. Congratulations to Georgia whose meal was chosen as the winner, and the prize was a free meal for two at the Martin’s Arms.

On Wednesday 9th March, we held some further fundraising activities to coincide with our annual Open Morning. We had a tombola, a raffle and a ‘homemade’ stall, which included cakes, biscuits and much more.

Along with some funds raised at a cake sale organised by Macy, Amelie, Harry, Saffron and Angus, we are absolutely delighted to announce that we managed to raise £326.88 for this very worthwhile cause! A very big thank you to all parents, children and staff for their very generous support.
